PROJECTS IN PROGRESS

Afghanistan Technical and Vocational Institute:

Knowlogy is establishing the Afghanistan Technical and Vocational Institute (ATVI). ATVI will provide training to support development of an Afghan workforce, initially focusing on the fields of construction and transportation trades as well as in computer literacy. The Institute will also assist in development of small and medium sized enterprises. In addition to its core training mission, ATVI will also serve as an accreditation office, a job placement agency, and an incubator for small and medium sized enterprises. The vocational training programs will be supported by complementary facilities to allow for on-the-job apprenticeship. For example, each of the schools will have an adjacent service station at which ATVI students will work and learn the automotive trade, receiving income while they learn a trade.

Knowlogy is providing support in the form of managerial expertise, business planning, logistics and capitalization.

Iraqi Computer Training:

Knowlogy, through its sister company Knowlogy Corporation, is working with the USTDA to bridge the technology gap in the Middle-East. We are currently training Iraqi nationals in information and communications technologies (ICT) to earn industry-recognized certifications on Microsoft, Sun, Cisco and other companies to permit these students to act as a vanguard for the technological infrastructure rebuilding of Iraq. Students are currently being trained in Amman, Jordan. However, we envision a second phase to this project whereby several of these students deliver their own training courses in Iraq to their peers.
