Why Support This Campaign...
This campaign is a voice for those who refuse to tolerate the incompetence of our elected officials any longer. For years they have claimed to represent us but many have been corrupted by the financial power of the special interests. As a result, those of us who want to progress have been continuously silenced in legislation. We can no longer afford this kind of behavior from our elected officials.
To focus more inward, many of our state’s Democrats have become so complacent and so confident in election victory that they feel they do not have to work very hard for us anymore. They have become like drug companies, offering us different versions of the same old medicine, then every four years touting their “new” drug as if it is some amazing breakthrough. It is because of their failures that we now have a Republican governor and are likely to gain a Republican senator this fall. Enough is enough! The old establishment of the Democratic Party has got to go! It is time to replace it with a fresh, PROGRESSIVE Democratic Party!
By working together, not only can we rebuild this party, but we can send a message that will inspire new PROGRESSIVE leadership. It is time for us to truly stand up for our principles and ideals! No longer can we afford to settle for at best, mediocre leadership from our officials. It is time to stand strong and fight the good battle!
While I cannot honestly make promises on the success of legislation, I can and will make promises on the success of my character. I will promise to stand firm and fight for the success of the legislation that I speak of. I also will make the promise of holding ALL elected officials accountable for their actions, NO MATTER THEIR PARTY AFFILIATION. Finally, I will make the promise that my vote will never be sold to the highest bidder.
The progressive movement can win this election but we must work together! With your help, we can make it to Annapolis and WE WILL BE HEARD! I ask that you join me in working for our needs, such as affordable health care, a living wage, a quality educational system, a healthy environment, an end to any discriminatory policies, as well as the MANY other major social changes that need to take place.
I cannot do it alone.; From its conception, this campaign was not about “I” but about “WE”. It is WE, THE PEOPLE, who have the power to achieve these goals! It is WE, THE PEOPLE, who have the power to make a difference! I ask that you join me in our fight to forge a new and improved PROGRESSIVE Democratic Party and MOVE OUR STATE FORWARD!
