About Me
Born and raised in northeast
Through growing up in ethnically diverse neighborhoods, I have developed an understanding of people from a variety of backgrounds. I have also witnessed and personally been subjected to the crime, violence, and racial tensions that hinder our community. These experiences have only helped me realize that all people, regardless of skin color, are all potential victims of these atrocities.
After graduation from high school, I was unable to afford college, so immediately I joined the work force. I worked nearly six years as an assistant teacher in the field of Special Education. I was previously a member of both the Teamsters and the United Food and Commercial Workers labor unions, while my father had been a sprinkler-fitter for the past thirty-five years with the United Association labor union. This background has given me a great deal of valuable experience pertaining to the adversity of the working class citizen, in addition to the importance of labor unions.
Currently, I am a Park Ranger for
The volunteer work that I have always preferred has been tacit work. I had spent six years as an assistant teacher with special needs children and now volunteer my time whenever possible. I have always enjoyed participating in various fund-raising activities such as the Susan G. Koman Race for the Cure. However, the activities that I perform most frequently include helping neighbors and others who are in need with a wide range of daily-living services.
Being a humble person, I have never preferred to do things that bring a great deal of attention to the assistance I perform. While I see nothing wrong with others who want recognition for the great accomplishment of service to the community, I prefer to remain on a deferential level with my achievements.
